Secure communication

The Website, the App and API use secure communication Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS). in HTTPS the communication protocol is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS) or formerly Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Both also reffered to as HTTP over TLS or HTTP over SSL. This ensure that all communication between the user browser to PushStaq servers is secure and encrypted at all times.

Push Notification secure communication

PushStaq uses user device browser web push subscription to enable real time push notifications (if user request to do so). Push notifications are secured using Message Encryption for Web Push where it is encrypted using elliptic curve and Diffie-Hellman (DH or ECDH) cryptography methods.

End-to-End Encryption

For more secure and privacy for our users data, PushStaq offers optional End-to-end Encryption (E2EE) on top of our services using 256 bit encryption with AES-GCM cryptography method.
Users can enable E2EE in their own channel by setting a channel dedicated password that will be saved to user device to ensure only they can read what is sent.
No one in between and not even PushStaq can read the user messages since the messages that are sent will be encrypted.

If user enable E2EE in specific channel this will be applied on Push notifications as well.
This means that the Push notification message is sent encrypted and the client decrypt it on top the existing Push Notification secure communication, This provides secure and private communication for users data and devices.
